Due to increasing socio-political tensions in the country, Sri Lankans of minority communities face untold hardships and discriminations especially in terms of practicing their religions or beliefs. Even in the aftermath of decades-long ethnic war, reports of communal tensions, intolerance and blatant violations of human rights based on racial and religious differences are quite common.
The National Christian Evangelical Alliance Sri Lanka believes every human being deserves to live a life of dignity. Thus, the NCEASL advocates for the rights of marginalised communities, creates awareness of religious freedom and human rights among minority groups and lobbies for the increased attention of local and international policy makers to pressing issues within the country.
Through close engagement with civil society groups, diplomatic missions, government officials, religious leaders and grassroots communities, the NCEASL hopes to create a just and peaceful society and a better Sri Lanka.
