Vacancy: Media Strategy Officer


The National Christian Evangelical Alliance of Sri Lanka (NCEASL) is a faith based organisation, implementing sustainable development projects among the poor and marginalised communities of all ethnic groups in all parts of Sri Lanka.

We seek a dynamic and committed individual to support the Religious Liberty and Social Justice Commission in its online communications, media and public engagement, and to develop and implement a comprehensive web-based strategy to increase awareness on religious liberty and social justice issues.

The suitable candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher diploma in Social Sciences or Media and Communication, Marketing, Public Relations or similar fields and should also meet the following requirements:

  • Experience in Marketing and Brand Management
  • Knowledge on the principles of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), including keyword research
  • Strong contacts with media personnel and work experience in the media field is highly recommended
  • Experience or interest in working on human rights issues
  • Ability to communicate policy issues through creative social media strategies
  • Organised and skilled at liaising with different actors with varying styles of working, in a multicultural environment
  • A team player who can also work independently, establishing priorities and organising his/her time accordingly, with excellent multitasking skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a challenging environment hands-on experience in content management and social media campaigns for awareness building
  • Ability to deliver creative content
  • Generating, editing, publishing and sharing engaging content as required (e.g. original text, visuals, videos, etc.) on project activities, advocacy and issues related to religious freedom and social justice as undertaken by the NCEASL
  • Developing, designing and launching creative social media and web-based campaigns on social justice issues
  • Excellent communication skills in English and a knowledge of Sinhala and/or Tamil (preferably both)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of changes and trends in social and digital media
